I have been very lucky as a strength and conditioning coach to be able to work in some fantastic places and travel around the world experiencing elite level sport. I have worked in New Zealand, working for Manawatu Rugby Union and as a Personal Trainer at City Fitness. I then moved back to the UK to work for Hartpury College as their strength and conditioning coach. Whilst doing this I was fortunate enough to be asked to work with England Rugby for the women sevens in preparation for their World Cup in Dubai. Following the World Cup I got a job at Bath Rugby heading up their academy program. I was promoted into the first-team and I was the senior strength and conditioning coach.
After my daughter Emma was born, Jill and I returned to Nottingham where it had all began nearly a decade before. I got a job working in tennis with some of the top junior elite players. I was also working at Notts County Cricket Club within their academy and I was also working with the EIS Working with some of the GB Canoeing elite junior K and C paddlers as well as the Girls for Gold Talent ID Programme.
Working with these athletes and being fortunate enough to be part of the elite programs within some of these amazing governing bodies and clubs, I have rigorous high standards of what I expect from my clients, myself and the kit I use. So when I setup the Compound Fitness Performance Studio, It was done so with one goal in mind to be the best it could be.
Myself and my best mate Sam scoured the internet in order to purchase the kit that was on the list of what had to be in the studio.
And today on 2 January 2017 the studio opens. It goes without saying there are so many people to thank in the process of getting this studio up and running. I can’t thank everyone enough that has spent time painting, plastering, drilling, cutting, assembling, driving, fetching, carrying and listening to me talk about it. SO A MASSIVE THANK YOU!
It is with great excitement at the studio opens today and I keep fingers crossed that everything carries on going as well as it has done whilst getting the kit and setting up the room.
